All displayed loose leaf teas were 3-6 years from the production date, marked as now past their expiry date. This was not the issue, as time passes and small storeowners may forget to check stock. But when I brought this up to the shopkeeper, he grabbed a bag at random and tried to convince me it was “still fresh”. When I turned over the bag to show an already-expired datestamp, he started arguing that it didn’t matter at all when tea leaves are harvested.
