Walking through the narrow and impressive "Siq" passage, the magnificence of the treasury (Al-Khazna) suddenly appears before you, creating a breathtaking experience. Every corner is a unique detail, a unique story. The color of the stones constantly changes with the sun's movement; a completely different view in the morning, a completely different one at night. Be prepared for long walks and dust, but every step is more than worth it. Petra fills you with profound awe and respect. It's a must-see place once in a lifetime. While we couldn't explore in detail, it was wonderful to experience its captivating atmosphere. The horsemen and pedestrians who offer guides can be insistent at times, but when you politely decline, they back down. When our phone battery died, we asked at a tourist shop, and they immediately helped us—a wonderful reminder of the hospitality of the locals. However, after purchasing our tickets, we experienced a strange situation: After paying at the ticket office, a staff member came after us in a car, claiming they'd given us too much change and wanted some of it back. We returned it, but this didn't inspire confidence. We've been scammed before using a similar method, demanding payment in places where there were no cameras. Therefore, I recommend caution when paying in Petra or elsewhere. Despite all this, Jordan and Amman are generally quite safe and comfortable places. Just as with everything else, it's best to be a little more cautious in tourist areas.
