For the next 7 hours he took us on a journey through the city and then the mountains beyond. He knew when to surprise us, when to give us time to take it all in, when to hurry us so we would stay on track with his exceptional plan. Throughout, he was generous to the locals, friendly to other tourists, and remarkably knowledgeable about the history, geology, theology, and politics of the places we were moving through. He took incredible photos. At the end, we journeyed back to the visitor center off-road with his friend. It was the trip of a lifetime and worth every penny.
