3 weeks agoIt was closed when I went. So these pictures were taken from the outside. The first Islamic city built outside the Arabian Peninsula, Ayla was a major port and stopping place for Mecca pilgrims. It dates back to 650AD.

a month agoAn ancient city dating back to the 600s. Or rather, not much is left. What has been done seems to have been done later, the excavation work is very poor.
