in the last weekWe really enjoyed our visit with Jolanda. Indeed it was more like visiting an old friend than staying in a B&B. Her little house is cozy and comfortable and is perched high above Petra with a spectacular view of the mountains. Good location for sunsets and sunrises - especially from the lovely little back porch off our room. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of peace and quiet. The room, if spare, was clean, spacious and cool, with a good breeze coming through the ample windows. Jolanda's breakfasts were varied and tasty, setting us up well for an our long day of trekking through the site. She was also very generous in giving us little containers to bring along some of our leftovers for an easy snack after we'd climbed to the Monastery! And she always offered tea in the evenings with some local pastries - I still think about those tahini cookies. The Fig Tree Villa is a great value if you are looking for a personable, homey experience. It is not a luxury hotel, but for us, we much preferred it that way. I would totally recommend this to the adventurous, extroverted traveller!

a week agoPetra delight. I arrived unannounced with a recommendation for this lovely place. The owner came back specially to get me sorted. She armed me with local brochures, tips and suggestions for my 2 day visit. She invited me to come back after checking out,to freshen up and escape the heat whilst I waited for my bus. Lovely views over the city. Sweet garden, clean and tidy place, peaceful and restful. I really enjoyed my stay ☺️

4 weeks agoWe stayed with our family at Petra Fig Tree Villa for three nights. Very personal and intimate B&B, with a very welcoming host. Conveniently located and beautiful views. Jolanda is around for 11 years and knows about the best restaurants and hikes around Petra. She also arranged horse riding for my daughter and me which was an absolute adventure with great horses and an enthousiast guide.

4 months agoWe enjoyed staying in our stay in the B&B of Jolanda a lot during a fantastic week in Jordan. The accomodation is on walking distance from the Petra entrance, the B&B is beautiful and very well maintained. Jolanda makes delicious breakfast and is very kind and helpful. She also assisted us with booking a 3-day hike from Jordan to Little Petra, which was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
