Ayla Aqaba Things to Do

Things to Do in Ayla Aqaba: Golf, Beach, Hotels & Dining

Ayla Aqaba is a large waterfront destination in Aqaba built around lagoons, a marina, beaches, dining areas, hotels, and a golf course. It is not just one hotel or one beach club. It works more like a mixed leisure district where you can stay, eat, spend time by the water, book a round at Ayla Golf Club, walk around Marina Village, or plan part of your trip around beach clubs and family activities. Ayla’s official site presents it as a master-planned destination on the Red Sea coast, with Marina Village, Ayla Marina, beaches, golf, and hotel stays all forming part of the same area. That makes it one of the easier places in Aqaba to shape into a half-day stop, a full day out, or a longer stay.

Ayla is one of the most polished lifestyle areas in Aqaba, but it works best when visitors understand how it fits into the wider city. For the full destination context, see our Aqaba destination guide, which covers beaches, diving, snorkeling, restaurants, transport, where to stay, Wadi Rum, Petra, and sample itineraries. This Ayla guide focuses specifically on what to do inside Ayla, from marina walks and beach clubs to golf, dining, hotels, and family-friendly activities.

Ayla is one part of the destination. To compare its marina, golf, beaches and dining with activities across South Beach and central Aqaba, explore the wider guide to Aqaba attractions and activities.

Travelers adding Aqaba or Ayla to wider Explore Jordan packages should compare whether a 5 nights route has enough time or whether a longer itinerary is better.

Top things to do in Ayla Aqaba

Ayla works best when you think of it by zones rather than as a single attraction. You have the marina side, the beach side, the golf side, and the hotel-and-dining side. That gives you a lot of flexibility, especially if your group has mixed interests.

Marina and water-based experiences

1. Walk around Marina Village

Marina Village sits at the center of Ayla’s social side. The official Ayla pages describe it as the heart of the community, with dining, cafés, bars, shopping, and entertainment. It is the easiest place to start if you are visiting Ayla for the first time because it gives you a feel for the layout before you decide whether to head toward the marina, the beach clubs, or golf.

2. Spend time at Ayla Marina

Ayla Marina connects Marina Village to the Red Sea and is one of the defining parts of the destination. Ayla says the marina offers direct Red Sea access from Marina Village and includes berthing services and yacht-related facilities. Even if you are not arriving by boat, the marina area is part of the wider Ayla atmosphere and one of the better places for a waterfront stroll.

3. Book a dive, snorkel trip, or boat outing through an Ayla-based operator

On Ayla’s official activities page, Diverse Divers is listed in Marina Village and offers scuba courses, boat dives, yacht cruises, and snorkeling trips. For travelers who want more than beach time, this is one of the clearest Ayla-based ways to get out on or under the water without leaving the destination area entirely.

Golf and open-air leisure

4. Play Ayla Golf Club

Ayla Golf Club is one of the main reasons many visitors include Ayla in their Aqaba plans. The official site confirms an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole floodlit academy course, both designed by Greg Norman. It is suitable for golfers who want a proper round, and it is also approachable for people who are newer to the game and want lessons or practice facilities rather than a full championship experience.

5. Use the academy and practice areas

If you do not want to commit to a full round, Ayla’s golf pages also mention indoor swing and putting studios, practice putting greens, short game areas, and a grass teeing area. That makes the golf club useful for first-timers, casual golfers, and mixed groups where not everyone wants the same level of play.

6. Eat or take a break at Silica

Silica sits inside Ayla Golf Club and overlooks the course. On Ayla’s dining page, it is presented as a quick and casual dining spot, which makes it a practical stop even for visitors who are not playing golf but want the setting and views.

Beach time

7. Spend the day at B12 Beach Club

Ayla describes B12 as a beach club with all-day dining, drinks, and activities that can work for the whole family. The tone is more social and casual than formal, so it suits travelers who want beach time with food and a livelier setting rather than just a quiet shoreline.

8. Try Mama Gaia Beach Club

Mama Gaia is one of Ayla’s named beach venues and is presented by Ayla as a premium beach club with a beach, pool, dining, and nightlife element through OUM nightclub. That makes it more suitable for adults, couples, and groups who want a beach club feel rather than a simple swim stop.

9. Choose La Plage for a beach day linked to Hyatt Regency

Ayla lists La Plage Beach Club at the heart of Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort, with volleyball and water inflatables for all ages. For families or hotel guests, it can make sense as the most straightforward beach choice within the resort side of Ayla.

Family and entertainment

10. Take kids to Rise Adventure Park

Rise is one of the strongest family-friendly reasons to include Ayla in your Aqaba itinerary. Ayla’s pages describe it as an open-air adventure park in Marina Village with high ropes, low ropes, a giant swing, spiral slide, trampoline, climbing wall, zip line, and adventure golf, plus a separate playground for younger children.

11. Add games and entertainment in Marina Village

Ayla’s entertainment pages also list options like Frenzi in Marina Village, which broadens the appeal beyond beach and golf. This matters if you are traveling with teenagers, a mixed-age family, or a group that wants evening activities after dinner.

Dining and evening plans

12. Build an evening around Marina Village or Hyatt Regency dining

Ayla has enough named dining venues to turn dinner into a main activity rather than just a meal stop. Marina Village includes restaurants such as ANKYRA, while the hotel side includes places like Vista Lounge & Bar, Cascades, The Olive Tree, RED Restaurant and Lounge, and Tapas del Mar. If your plan is beach by day and dinner by night, Ayla is set up well for that kind of pace.

Ayla Aqaba activities by type

Couples

Ayla works well for couples because you can combine a waterfront setting with a slower pace. A half-day could be a marina walk followed by lunch or dinner in Marina Village. A full day could include beach club time, sunset around the marina, and dinner at one of the hotel or marina venues.

Half-day idea: Marina Village walk + coffee or late lunch + marina-side evening
Full-day idea: beach club in the afternoon + Ayla Marina at sunset + dinner at a Hyatt Regency or Marina Village restaurant

Families with kids

Families usually get the most value from mixing one active stop with one easy stop. Rise Adventure Park gives children a clear activity anchor, while a family-friendly beach club or Marina Village meal keeps the day manageable. La Plage and B12 make more sense here than a more adult-led venue.

Half-day idea: Rise Adventure Park + casual meal in Marina Village
Full-day idea: Rise in the morning + beach club in the afternoon + early dinner

Friends / groups

For groups, Ayla is useful because different people can lean into different parts of the destination. Some may want the beach, others golf, others dining and nightlife. Mama Gaia, Marina Village, and the Hyatt dining side usually fit best for this kind of flexible plan.

Half-day idea: B12 or Mama Gaia + drinks or dinner later
Full-day idea: golf or water activity in the first half of the day + beach club + dinner and evening in Marina Village or Hyatt Regency

Solo travelers

Solo travelers often want somewhere easy to move around without too much planning. Ayla suits that well. A simple route is Marina Village first, then one main activity, then a meal. Golf practice, a dive booking through an Ayla-based operator, or a quiet café stop can all work.

Half-day idea: Marina Village + one activity + lunch
Full-day idea: golf academy or diving/snorkeling booking + marina walk + relaxed dinner

Business / corporate

Ayla also fits business visitors because it combines hotels, dining, marina views, and group-friendly leisure options in one area. For informal networking, the marina and hotel lounges make the most sense. For a longer stay, golf and private event options may help shape a client-facing program. Ayla’s FAQ and event pages also confirm private events and dining options.

Half-day idea: lunch meeting or coffee + marina walk
Full-day idea: hotel stay + golf or private dining/event format + evening meal

Ayla Golf Club guide

Ayla Golf Club is Ayla’s golf anchor and one of the better-known golf addresses in Jordan. According to Ayla, it includes Jordan’s first 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole academy course, with design by Greg Norman. The club also includes practice and teaching facilities, which broadens its appeal beyond golfers who only want a traditional full round.

For experienced golfers, the championship course is the obvious draw. For newer players, the academy setup, practice areas, and teaching options make the club less intimidating. The official site mentions PGA-qualified professionals, indoor swing and putting studios, practice greens, and short game areas. That means Ayla Golf Club can work both as a serious golf stop and as an entry point for travelers who simply want to try the sport in a destination setting.

What to expect

• A purpose-built golf setting within the wider Ayla destination
• Strong visual contrast between fairways, lagoons, and mountain backdrop
• A clubhouse, pro shop, and practice facilities
• Options for both full-course play and shorter-format golf experiences

Tips for first-timers

• Start with the academy side or practice areas if you are new to golf
• Dress neatly and follow normal golf course etiquette
• Arrive with enough time to settle in rather than rushing straight to the tee
• If you are unsure what to book, check the official golf pages before you go

Etiquette basics

• Keep pace with the group ahead
• Repair divots and respect practice areas
• Keep noise low near players taking shots
• Follow staff guidance on course use and booking flow

How to book
Ayla’s official golf booking page confirms that you can book or send enquiries through the official form, by phone, or by email. If anything on availability or course use changes, check the official golf page directly.

Ayla Aqaba beach

When people search for “Ayla Aqaba beach,” they are usually looking for one of two things: a general beach atmosphere inside Ayla, or a specific beach club. In practice, Ayla’s beach experience is spread across named venues rather than one single public-facing beach description. Ayla’s own FAQ and beach pages point visitors toward B12 Beach Club, Mama Gaia Beach Club, and La Plage Beach Club.

B12 feels like the broadest all-round option on the official descriptions, especially if you want all-day dining and a family-friendly social setup. Mama Gaia is better if you want a more polished beach club mood with pool, dining, and evening energy. La Plage fits visitors who want their beach time connected to the Hyatt Regency side of Ayla, with activities aimed at different ages.

Practical tips

• Bring regular beach essentials: swimwear, sun protection, sandals, and a change of clothes
• If you want a quieter atmosphere, go earlier rather than later
• If dining matters, check the venue page first, since each beach venue has its own style
• If you are visiting with children, look more closely at La Plage or B12
• If you are after a more adult beach club setting, Mama Gaia is the more obvious fit

Hotels in Ayla Aqaba

Ayla officially presents three hotel options linked to the destination: Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla, Cloud7 Residence Ayla Aqaba, and The Pulse as a coming-soon property in Marina Village.

Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla

This is the most classic resort-style stay within Ayla. Ayla describes it as a place where families, couples, friends, and business travelers come together to work, play, and relax. It suits visitors who want a full resort feel, easier access to the Hyatt dining venues, and a stay centered around lagoons and the resort side of Ayla. Nearby highlights include La Plage Beach Club, Vista Lounge, Cascades, The Olive Tree, RED, and marina access.

Cloud7 Residence Ayla Aqaba

Cloud7 is better for travelers who want a more apartment-style stay in the middle of Marina Village. Ayla says it is in the heart of Marina Village and offers apartments rather than a standard hotel-only format. That makes it a practical choice for longer stays, small groups, or travelers who want dining, cafés, and village activity close by.

The Pulse

The Pulse is listed by Ayla as coming soon in Marina Village. Ayla describes it as an adults-only boutique hotel with rooftop dining and marina views. Since it is presented as upcoming, it makes sense to mention it for awareness but not as a current booking choice unless the official page changes.

How to choose

• Families: Hyatt Regency or Cloud7, depending on whether you want resort format or apartment-style space
• Couples: Hyatt Regency for a full resort stay; The Pulse may become relevant later once open
• Golf travelers: Hyatt Regency works well, especially when building the stay around golf and resort dining
• Business travelers: Hyatt Regency for classic business-resort convenience; Cloud7 for more independent stays
• Longer stays or groups: Cloud7 is the clearest fit

Restaurants in Ayla Aqaba

Ayla has enough food options to justify a dedicated meal stop even if you are not staying overnight. The strongest official approach is to think in zones: Marina Village venues, golf-side dining, beach club dining, and Hyatt Regency restaurants.

Breakfast / cafés

For a light start or coffee stop, Marina Village and hotel lounges make the most sense. Cloud7 also mentions Munch & Go in its reception area for snacks and drinks. If you want a slower sit-down breakfast, The Olive Tree is the main all-day hotel restaurant named on Ayla’s dining page.

Casual dining

Silica is the most obvious casual choice around the golf side. B12 Beach Club also works for casual food during a beach-led day. In Marina Village, casual choices shift, so it is worth checking Ayla’s live dining directory before you go.

Seafood / waterside mood

If you want a marina-facing meal with a more evening-led tone, Tapas del Mar is one of the named Hyatt venues with marina views and a seafood-leaning concept. For a broader waterfront atmosphere, Marina Village is also a sensible place to browse current options.

Date-night or evening meal

For dinner with a more polished feel, RED Restaurant and Lounge, ANKYRA, and Vista Lounge & Bar are among the stronger named options. RED is positioned around European-inspired dishes, ANKYRA around Greek cuisine in Marina Village, and Vista Lounge around marina views and a lounge setting.

Quick bites and flexible stops

For visitors moving between areas, Munch & Go at Cloud7 and Silica at the golf club are the easiest names to remember. They fit people who want something simple without planning the day around a full meal.

If venue names change over time, Ayla’s own dining and Marina Village directory pages are the safest source to check before publishing or updating this page.

Practical info for visiting Ayla (Aqaba)

Ayla is in Aqaba and Ayla’s FAQ says it is minutes from Aqaba city center. The same official pages position it within Jordan’s “Golden Triangle” of Aqaba, Wadi Rum, and Petra, which matters more for trip planning than exact distances on a page like this.

Getting there: arrive the normal Aqaba way, then treat Ayla as one destination area within the city.
Getting around: once inside Ayla, it is easiest to think by zones and move between Marina Village, golf, hotels, and beach venues according to your plan.
What to wear: normal resort-casual clothing works in most of Ayla; bring beachwear for clubs and smarter evening wear for dinners if that suits your plans.
Accessibility: check directly with Ayla or the individual hotel/venue if you need specific accessibility arrangements, since the official pages are not detailed enough on every access point.
Safety and common sense: Aqaba resort norms apply: stay hydrated, use sun protection, supervise children around water, and confirm venue access rules directly before visiting.

Map-style orientation

The easiest mental map of Ayla is this:

• Marina Village is the social hub, with dining, cafés, shopping, and entertainment
• Ayla Marina links that village atmosphere to Red Sea access and berthing services
• The hotel side includes Hyatt Regency and its associated restaurants and beach club
• The golf side centers on Ayla Golf Club, practice areas, clubhouse facilities, and Silica
• Beach experiences are spread across named venues such as B12, Mama Gaia, and La Plage rather than one single generic beach stop
